Wikipedia uses an open-source software package called MediaWiki to create a user-generated encyclopedia. Using the same software, NetThink 21 created a wiki for MetroAmp.com, the Vintage Amplifier & Tech Wiki. We performed the software installation, configuration, and created a custom skin to match the MetroAmp website.
A wiki encourages participation from your site visitors and gives them a reason to keep coming back. Anyone can contribute and the volume of information grows as new pages and topics are added and edited.
The MetroAmp wiki provides a first level of tech support for users of their products. The software was integrated with the MetroAmp forum - approved users already registered with the forum can log in to the Wiki with the same credentials to create and edit pages. The interaction will enrich the user experience, offer helpful information, and attract more traffic to the website.
